CBD, or canabidiol is an amazingly useful plant compound that is extracted from the cannabis plant. With volumes of medical science now at its back, this compound has been used effectively for a wide range of needs. These particularly wide-ranging applications are the result of its being a part of the “pleiotropic sedate” group. Compounds in this group are especially unique in their ability to affect and travel along many of the typically closed atomic pathways.
At Elixinol, we’re not selling magic potion in a bottle. Our CBD oil is not a miraculous cure that will make illnesses go away overnight. We don’t sell drugs, and we’re not producing medical marijuana. What we do offer you is a powerful dietary supplement with an impressive concentration of CBD, a product that is safe and is obtained through a technology that allows it to retain all the nutrients found in the original plant.
We’ve systematically sought out the most beautiful and healthy hemp cultivars for our raw ingredients used in CBD oil manufacturing, and we always test for purity and potency. Hemp, because of its innate ability to thrive easily, doesn’t require pesticides (the aromatic terpene compounds in hemp can actually act as natural pesticides), fertilizers, or herbicides in its cultivation, and requires much less water than standard commercial farming. The hemp we use is grown under the same methods and standards of organic farming.
Are they open about third party tests and willing to share the results? When in doubt, ask for multiple lab tests including from the farm and a third-party lab. They’ll list out contaminants, solvents, and the percentage of cannabinoids. According to White, “brands should be happy to share their results as they’ve invested in those tests. If they aren’t transparent, it’s suspect.” Brands like RITUAL, Care by Design, Humbodlt Apothecary and Kinslips have all gone through rigorous testing standards as they are cannabis derived. Since you can’t travel across state lines with cannabis CBD, industrial hemp CBD brands that have well-sourced farms and openly share tests include Lily CBD, Rosebud, Honey Pot Supply, and Soul Addict.

A lot of research and trial prove the fact that cannabidiol oil can help to relieve chronic pain. People suffering from diseases from chronic pain, such as fibromyalgia have reported experiencing a relief with cannabidiol oil. CBD oil can also provide a long-term pain relief and ward off the degeneration of the nervous system. CBD oil has been used in Canada for cancer pain and multiple sclerosis.
In fact, numerous studies have looked at the relationship between CBD and pain, and the results are promising. Researchers have looked at various kinds of pain – from joint pain to cancer pain. One finding is that CBD increases levels of glutamate and serotonin – both neurotransmitters that play a role in pain regulation. And CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties help by tackling the root cause of much chronic pain.

Both the National Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society recognize the potential of CBD oil in suppressing and fighting the spread of life-threatening cancer cells. Although they claim that CBD can’t be a cure, a growing number of studies suggest that cannabidiol can help to suppress the development and progression of various cancers, such as lung, breast, colon, and prostate cancers.

Unregulated markets come with some obvious risks; lack of oversight, false claims, the potential for dangerous pesticides and contaminants. Cannabis, in states where it’s legal, is regulated. Sold in state-licensed stores (akin to states controlling liquor stores, except with higher taxes and much stricter regulations) aka dispensaries, you can be confident that the CBD-dominant cannabis tinctures, topicals, vapes, and edibles on shelves are accountable to purity and accuracy tests.
Throughout history, peppermint oil has been used by many different cultures and in many regions of the world to treat similar health ailments. The most common uses for peppermint oil are: its antimicrobial properties, soothes upset stomach and gastric issues, relieves headaches and tension in muscles, improves mental clarity and focus, opens sinuses and acts as an expectorant for clearing the respiratory tract.
Finally, in general, we almost always recommend full spectrum tinctures over supplements made from isolates (extracts of CBD alone). Full-spectrum or whole plant tinctures take advantage of the ‘entourage effect’ that comes from combining all the naturally occurring chemicals found in the hemp plant. Isolates are great for cooking with CBD or consumers that are especially sensitive to the taste of hemp extract, but some research suggests they may be less effective for certain uses than full spectrum extracts. All but two of the brands below are made from full spectrum hemp, and the exceptions are clearly noted.

Although it is better to consume CBD isolate than nothing at all, it may not offer you the same range of positive effects as full spectrum CBD powder. You still receive an adequate amount of CBD, but you also consume dozens of beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes. As a result, your body will receive more than enough vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. Not only will full spectrum CBD powder relieve pain, reduce stress and help you sleep, but it can also keep your body strong, fit and healthy.
RSHO™, Dixie Botanicals®, and Cibdex® all feature tinctures in their brand. Both RSHO™ and Dixie Botanicals® tinctures come in 1 oz bottles that contain 100 mg of CBD for $29. MMA fighter Joe Schilling describes (paraphrased) how cannabis oil killed cancer in his father, “I was able to visit my dad in the hospital. My dad’s prognosis was that he was going to die soon from cancer. He agreed to Cannabis Oil therapy, with CBD but not THC. There was cancer in his lung, cancer in his brain, cancer in his chest, a massive tumor was on his neck. We gave CBD oil to him for something like 7 months. He decided against chemo, he did not want to do it.” Schilling notes his father’s poor diet choices and refusal to take vitamins and states, “the doctors did their tests and graphs, you know the things that they do, and amazingly, 90% of the cancer was gone.  I have no doubt what so ever that it was the CBD oil that killed the cancer because he was doing absolutely nothing else correctly.  The 10% of the cancer that was still alive was surrounded by dead cells and was going to die out too.”

So in regard to hemp CBD oil I bet you are thinking, “it’s less effective.” Well, let’s put a few things into perspective. First, it is certainly not going to blow you away and give you a buzzin’ high. In fact, it’s widely known that hemp-based CBD oil produces no psychoactive response whatsoever. Furthermore, it isn’t going to cure cancer, or “cure” any disease for that matter. It may, however, help with mild conditions such as pain, anxiety, and arthritis – if dosed correctly, in consultation with your doctor. Similar to most things in life, it is a matter of what works best for you; there are currently hundreds of CBD Oil brands on the market, and what might work for one person, might not work at all for another. The question is finding what works for you and if you do find it, it just might change your life around from head to toe.

There is a growing number of medical cannabis dispensaries offering CBD-rich products in the U.S. Most physical dispensaries are required to operate under state health and safety standards set by law. The state conducts background checks on owner and staff, and dispensaries must meet security requirements and strict licensing guidelines. When buying hemp-based CBD oil (low in THC or/and CBD) you will not need a card, however, to purchase cannabis plant-based CBD oil patients need to be certified by a doctor who is part of their continuing care, and who’s registered with the state’s medical-marijuana program. That, however, applies only to those living in states that have passed medical marijuana laws. It is important for one to visit the dispensaries and get as much information as to whether their products have been tested and undergone clinical trials.
CBD oil is similar to other products in that it is capable of being “watered down.” Some companies will try to eke out a higher profit margin by fooling their customers into thinking they’re getting more for less. It is important to pay attention to the concentration level of the CBD oil you’re buying in order to ensure you’re getting what you’re paying for. Although concentrations of CBD can vary quite a bit across the broad range of CBD products, a quality product will start off having somewhere between 250mg to 1,000mg per fluid ounce. This matters because if you were to purchase a 4 ounce bottle that contained 250mg of CBD, your concentration would be a mere 62.5 mg of CBD per ounce – hardly enough to reap the full benefits of CBD. It’s always important to look at the concentration level of the CBD you’re buying.
