The range of qualified medical conditions that Marijuana’s cannabinoids help treat, the main being THC and CBD are growing daily. A few of these include MS, seizures, eating disorders, HIV and cancer. Cannabis is also a treatment for mental health issues such as PTSD that many of our proud Texas Veterans are dealing with today. One Texas Veteran said when asked if medical marijuana helped his PTSD, the reply was “Weed is a miracle for PTSD, sometimes I think I smoke a lot, then it occurred to me that I haven’t wanted to hit anyone in 6 months.”
The CBD utilized in our tinctures is extracted from industrial hemp cultivated in the United States. To further ensure quality and purity, our industrial hemp goes through a supercritical CO2 extraction process to obtain the best possible CBD solution. This solution is then formulated by our board-certified pharmacists into finished products and sent out for third-party testing. Our CBD oil is made with high-quality CBD extracted from organic hemp that is abundant in naturally produced terpenes, oils, vitamins, omega fatty acids, and other components.

CO2 extraction is one of the most common ways CBD is extracted from the hemp or cannabis plants. This method uses expensive equipment that adjusts temperature and pressure to extract the cannabinoids from the plant material, without damaging them. The other common method is to use solvents like ethanol or butane to extract the plant material. These solvents have to be burned off the final product which may damage the cannabinoids or terpenes in the process. There is also a risk that these solvents may not have burned off completely and could end up in your end product.
CBD & THC are just 2 of many cannabiniods that will be seen on certificates of analysis; CBN for example is known to treat insomnia due to it’s sedating qualities & the list of terpenes, is long & each one has it’s own specific medicinal value. There’s a tremendous amount of learning involved with finding the right CBD product as well as the individual doseage; it’s advised for all beginners to “start slow & low”.
I have also called a couple places to get some input about what we may need, but they all said they cannot give advice. Then HOW do we know what to get. As for MOST of us, we are by no means well off. Quite the opposite, in fact. So to keep “trying” a bunch of different ones is not an option. Blue Bird in CO give discounts to low income, so would like to use their products if possible.
Been using CBD for the past 2 years. I’ve tried quite a few of them. There are only a handful of reputable brands on the market like CW, Purekana and a few others. I can’t remember their names. I recently tried the fourth one on this list, premiumjane. Good stuff and helps with the pain I get in my shoulder. Would recommend it for acute pain. I am not sure if it would work for more serious problems. Anyone else?
CBD oil products are liquid drops of hemp which are taken orally. They are non-psychoactive and are available in low and high concentrations. Hemp oil tinctures are easy-to-use and offer all of the benefits associated with CBD. Hemp oil can be used sublingually via a dropper, or it can be added to your food and beverages which is why most customers have made it their go-to CBD product.
CBD capsules don’t come much better than these cannabidiol supplement capsules from Plus CBD Oil. They’re incredibly easy to use and allow you to keep track of your daily serving size, all while offering a much higher concentration of CBD than tinctures or vape oils. The capsules are non-GMO, vegan, and kosher—perfect for specific dietary requirements. Simply take one to two capsules per day to enjoy between 15 and 30 milligrams of high-quality CBD.
In the United States, over three million people suffer from epilepsy – 470,000 of those people are children. Epilepsy is a disorder of the brain that causes seizures – of which there are over thirty different kinds, ranging from mild and infrequent to life-threatening. Not surprisingly, people with epilepsy face significant challenges – from the cost of healthcare to work limitations and social isolation.
All this talk about THC lands us nicely in the whole “Full Spectrum vs. Pure Isolate” debate. Once you begin shopping for CBD products, you’ll notice a lot of jargon that gets thrown around without much explanation. Now that we’ve introduced THC into the conversation, we can talk about the difference between, and relative benefits of, Full Spectrum CBD and CBD Isolate (and the lesser-known contender: Broad Spectrum).
Conversely, to preserve most of the plant’s trichromes – these are the cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids – look for Supercritical (or subcritical) CO2 extraction. This method uses carbon dioxide under high pressure and extremely low temperatures to isolate, preserve, and maintain the purity of the medicinal oil. While this method is more expensive and involves complex equipment and expertise, it ensures quality.
So in regard to hemp CBD oil I bet you are thinking, “it’s less effective.” Well, let’s put a few things into perspective. First, it is certainly not going to blow you away and give you a buzzin’ high. In fact, it’s widely known that hemp-based CBD oil produces no psychoactive response whatsoever. Furthermore, it isn’t going to cure cancer, or “cure” any disease for that matter. It may, however, help with mild conditions such as pain, anxiety, and arthritis – if dosed correctly, in consultation with your doctor. Similar to most things in life, it is a matter of what works best for you; there are currently hundreds of CBD Oil brands on the market, and what might work for one person, might not work at all for another. The question is finding what works for you and if you do find it, it just might change your life around from head to toe.

Watch Out For: Companies who won’t disclose their extraction method or utilize hydrocarbons like butane and propane. These substances are toxic in high amounts and even with proper purging, most hydrocarbon extracts contain residual solvent. Other extraction methods do not result in a full spectrum extract – meaning they were not able to extract all of the beneficial compounds from the hemp plant (i.e. you don’t get the full range of benefits).
There are over 85 cannabinoids that make up the marijuana plant. The most popular and well known of these is tetrahydrocannabinol, or better known as THC. THC is a psychotropic cannabinoid that causes a high when inhaled or ingested. CBD has no THC. This means those dealing with various forms of pain and depression can safely use CBD to curb negative effects on the body without having to turn to prescription pharmaceuticals.
Tinctures start with a raw or decarboxylated oil, but they are a more palatable (tastier if you will) option. In order to make a tincture, emulsifiers and a carrier oil and flavoring are added to the base oil. They will be packaged with a dropper or spray top for ease of use. They may even contain sweeteners. These are a great starter product or an ideal daily food supplement for anyone who does not enjoy a hempy flavor. Some flavors, like spearmint and orange, will mask the hemp flavor while other lighter options, like vanilla, will complement it.

I currently have severe back issues due to a herniated disc. I was given Gabapentin which helped in 1 area and still hurt in another, but I didn’t like the side effects so I got off it. Now I’m back to lack of sleep due to the pain, mobility issues. My husband thought maybe I try this- my issue is my size. I’m not sure how to go about the dosage. I’m 5’0 150lbs so I’m little. Any ideas
There’s also been a lot of talk lately about “microdosing” CBD. This refers to an incremental process of finding your minimum effective dose. You can do this with any concentration of CBD oil, but lower concentrations will take longer. In a 2017 article in Rolling Stone, Dr. Dustan Sulak outlines his protocol for microdosing. You can begin this process by asking yourself three questions:
Ultimately, the quality of any CBD oil comes down to the extraction process that’s used, and how well the concentrate is produced and finalized. Here’s the thing, though: like we mentioned earlier, products from the Cannabis ruderalis plant (aka hemp) are assumed to be legal by some as long as they are imported into the U.S. from other countries. The only problem with this, of course, is that raw material from low THC- Plants, such as C. ruderalis is typically low in active cannabinoids, including CBD.

Pesticides, mold, and other contaminants are obviously substances you don’t want to be mainlining into your body, but properly dosed CBD is also crucial. That’s because your body’s response to CBD dosage is bell-curved. Too little and you won’t feel anything; too much and it’ll dampen the impact with reported side effects like lethargy and diarrhea (not chill). Given the lack of research into dosage and the variety of ailments CBD is used for, most people have to find their own “Goldilocks Zone.”

Receptra Naturals CBD products are derived from proprietary CBD rich hemp, grown on family owned and operated farms in Colorado using 100% organic farming practices on select organic soils without the use of pesticides or fungicides.  I got to know the folks at Receptra while dealing with Charlotte's Web Botanicals and continued to stay in contact when they left CW to form Receptra.
For example, using CBD vape oil requires a vaporizer, something you may be unfamiliar with, and for a beginner it can be intimidating. But vaping is only one option, and if you’re new to the world of CBD, a tincture is your best bet—it’s portable, discreet, and easy to use. And with only a few drops or sprays on your tongue, it’s super easy to keep track of your daily serving size.
To determine the purity and potency of every batch of Hemp cannabis oil each individual extraction is analyzed through a High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) system, a Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) system, and other methods to test for aerobic organisms, yeast, fungus, E. coli, pesticides, heavy toxic metals, cannabinoid potency, and terpenes.

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a group of cannabinoid receptors located in the brain and throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems, consisting of neuromodulatory lipids and their receptors. There are two main types of receptors in the ECS, CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are primarily located in the central nervous system and brains of mammals, and CB2 are generally found in the peripheral nervous system. There are two main cannabinoids mammals produce- 2AG and Anandamide. Read more by clicking here
CBD testing shouldn’t just tell you what’s in a CBD oil, which is usually CBD along with a carrier oil like grapeseed oil and maybe some other essential oils for flavor. It should also let you know what’s not in the package. Thorough testing can confirm that the oil you’re buying is not only real CBD, but that it’s free of contaminants like pesticides and synthetic CBD substitutes.
It sounds like the title of a children’s book, but like so much else that you learned in kindergarten, it’s true. Everyone’s body is different – but everyone’s endocannabinoid system is really unique. For reasons we don’t fully understand, receptors in the endocannabinoid system don’t respond predictably to cannabinoids from person to person. This lack of a predictable response makes standard dosing tricky.

Correct Answer: Ingestible CBD oil should be comprised of coconut MCT oil and full spectrum hemp extract (the part that contains the actual CBD). It’s important that the carrier oil contains Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT), like coconut oil, because it is easier for the body to digest. Remember that cannabinoids are best delivered to the body in either fat or alcohol as a carrier.

Irie Hemp will be offering their products for sale in medical marijuana dispensaries in states such as California and Oregon, and as such, all products MUST undergo testing procedures required by the medical marijuana industry. Irie Hemp Company therefore will be adhering to a higher standard than most of the companies currently marketing and selling unregulated hemp based CBD online.
Correct Answer: Yes, this is the only way to ensure top to bottom quality, consistency, and safety. All hemp should be organically grown on-site and final the extracted products should be produced in-house with sustainable practices. This is important because it gives the company full control over all the inputs in their tinctures, salves, and other products.

So, back to the difference between how effective hemp extract is compared to marijuana extract.  It is the subtle mixture of how much CBD and how much THC and how much of the other cannabinoids that can change the effectiveness for people.  For most of us, we won’t notice much difference in the subtle variations, other than the extract from marijuana will make you high, while the extract from hemp won’t.  However, there is a very small percentage of people whose bodies can tell the difference.  Some people find that they get better results when using an extract high in THC.  And, some people find that they get better results when using an extract that is low in THC.  This just comes down to these people’s bodies; and again, the percentage of these type of people is very low.
